Puppy Going Home Instructions

I know that getting a Yorkie puppy is a very exciting time. I have included some going home instructions to remind you of some very important things for your Yorkie puppy.

Feeding

I use and recommend Eukanuba Puppy Small Breed. I will be sending you home with a small container of the food for your puppy so it stays on the same food and does not get an upset stomach. I suggest that you leave a little bit of dry food out for your puppy all day. Please make sure your puppy is eating at a minimum of 3-4 times a day. Beware of Hypoglycemia!

Hypoglycemia is more commonly referred to as low blood sugar. It is a disorder that occurs mainly in small breeds between 6 and 12 weeks of age. Stress is often the cause; and, it can happen without warning. The puppy will show signs of hypoglycemia after it misses a meal, chills, becomes exhausted from playing, or has a digestive upset. This brings on symptoms because they add stress to the energy reserves.
