Puppy Going Home Instructions

I know that getting a Yorkie puppy is a very exciting time. I have included some going home instructions to remind you of some very important things for your Yorkie puppy.

Feeding

I use and recommend Eukanuba Puppy Small Breed. I will be sending you home with a small container of the food for your puppy so it stays on the same food and does not get an upset stomach. I suggest that you leave a little bit of dry food out for your puppy all day. Please make sure your puppy is eating at a minimum of 3-4 times a day. Care and Grooming of Your Yorkie…

Yorkies tend to have a long thick coat, if you let it grow out. If you would rather not have to put as much maintenance into brushing your dogs coat you may want to keep it in a “puppy cut.” Unlike most animals Yorkies do NOT shed.

You will need to get your puppy used to grooming because it is an extreme hassle to groom a dog that won’t sit still. If your pup is not used to it and doesn’t cooperate with the groomer if you take it to one you may end up getting a fee for the extra work the groomer had to do. [Read more...]
