Puppy Going Home Instructions

I know that getting a Yorkie puppy is a very exciting time. I have included some going home instructions to remind you of some very important things for your Yorkie puppy.

Feeding

I use and recommend Eukanuba Puppy Small Breed. I will be sending you home with a small container of the food for your puppy so it stays on the same food and does not get an upset stomach. I suggest that you leave a little bit of dry food out for your puppy all day. Please make sure your puppy is eating at a minimum of 3-4 times a day. Vaccines

Your puppy will have had a puppy shot (covers 5 different diseases) at 7 and 10 weeks and wormed at 2, 4, and 7 weeks. When you take your puppy to the vet for its initial health check, you will want to discuss with him when he recommends he next shot or vaccination. Puppies are born with some immunities from the mother, but these only last for a short period of time. Vaccinations and booster shots are to help the puppy raise their own immunity to diseases; so it’s important to continue vaccinations according to your vet’s recommendations. [Read more...]
